University of Alabama Rural Health Scholars Program
The University sponsors this program for 25 juniors. The ultimate goal is to make quality health care more available to the rural communities in the state. Requirements for applying: ACT of 21, a GPA of 3.0, two letters of recommendation and a statement of interest essay. Applications are available in the counselor's office and should be postmarked by March 15.

Shelton State will have a Preview Day on Saturday, February 18, 2017. Register at sheltonstate.edu/previewday College placement test may be taken at 8:30 this day also.

Kate Duncan Smith DAR School Scholarship and the Lauren Eddleman Scholarship are due in the counselor's (Mrs. Culbertson) office February 6, 2017.
Alabama Society DAR Scholarship is due and received by January 14, 2017.
NSDAR School Committee Scholarships ( Brackney, Otis-Cox and Longman-Harris) should be received by February 15, 2017.
National DAR Scholarships ( Richard and Elizabeth Dean, Utz Scholarship, etc.) should be received by February 10, 2017.
Northeast Alabama Community College Scholarship
This scholarship is now available on the Northeast website. Students need to create a login account and complete the application. Students must type an essay regarding their educational goals. This essay could be a deciding factor by the scholarship committee. Students may apply for as many of the scholarships as they want. Watch for any extra questions that are required. The deadline is January 20 at 4:30. Get started now!
Progressive Women of Northeast Alabama
This scholarship is available for female students starting with Summer or Fall of 2017. The scholarship will be awarded to those students with demonstrated need and a sincere concern for issues that affect women and families. The recipient must reside in DeKalb, Jackson or Marshall county. Applications may be mailed or hand delivered. Along with the application, available in the counselor's office, an essay, a resume and three reference forms are required. Deadline is January 20 by 4:30. AL Farmers Co-op & Auburn Scholarship
For beginning freshmen who would like an opportunity to work in the co-op system after graduation.
Amount: full tuition and fees, with an approximate value of $20,000 per student over a four-year period.
Must maintain a 3.0 GPA on Auburn University's four point scale, to remain eligible.

B. Davis Scholarship
There is a scholarship offered through the Student Award Search Aid website. The deadline is May 22 and the award is $1,000. Check out the website at www.studentawardsearch.com/scholarships.htm
Paul Mitchell The School Scholarship
Applicants must be accepted y the school. A sealed transcript with a minimum of 2.75 GPA required. The scholarship amount will be $2,000. An essay and two letters of recommendation are needed. Applications must be postmarked two weeks prior to the start date.
Aloysius (Al) Reisz Jr. Scholarship
This scholarship honors the memory of Al Reisz, an engineer with Marshall Space Flight. It is open to any graduating senior and the deadline is April 1, 2017. A minimum of 500 word essay explaining why space exploration is important is part of the application. College Counts Scholarship
Award amounts are $4,000 for four-year institutions and $2,000 for two-year institutions. The scholarship opens December 1 - March 1, 2017. Family Security Credit Union Scholarship
This scholarship is available to all high school seniors. Two $1,000.00 scholarships will be awarded in May. To apply visit www.myfscu.com for additional information. There is a 750-word essay required along with the application.
Alabama Home Builders Association Scholarship
This scholarship is available to any graduating senior planning on pursing a career in construction or a career related with construction such as electrical or electrical engineering, plumbing, heating and air or masonry. Degrees or certification can be from a technical school, community college or university. Applications are available in the counselor's office. The deadline is March 15.
Alabama School Public Relation Association Scholarship
This scholarship is for any junior or senior planning on pursuing a in communication, public relations or a degree in a related field of study. Applications are available in the counselor's office. Along with the application students must provide a transcript including a GPA of 3.0, a resume, a photo, and a response to an essay question. The deadline is February 10.
Alabama Association of School Personnel Scholarship
Scholarships will be given to high school graduates who desire to pursue of degree in business or a degree in K-12 education. Along with the application students need to include a recent photo, a personal letter stating your financial need, a transcript and one letter form three references. Deadline to submit the application is March 1.
The Foundation For Marshall Medical Centers
Applicants must be a graduating senior, have at least an 80 average in core subjects, be in good standing, provide an official transcript and be planning on pursuing a career in health care. Complete packets must be received by Friday, March 17. Applications packets are available in the counselor's office.
Electric Cooperative Scholarship
Seniors who are dependents of a member of a participating Alabama electric cooperative. Applications are available in the counselor's office. Packets must be received by February 24.
